Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

If this is what little boys are made of then I LOVE IT! Having a little man around the house is so much fun. Hyrum is such a cute boy and a good baby. He has the sweetest smile that lights up a room and those little dimples are the best! I can't believe that he is already 4 months old. Where did the time go?

Sisters, Sisters Volume I

I love watching my girls play together. Although they are 2 years apart I constantly catch them singing, laughing, and playing happily with one another. (Unless Jenna has the toy that Jadyn was just playing with...) I grew up with a sister that was 2 years younger and we were often told by my father, "Your sister should be your best friend." We gave it a try and found out that we actually could be best friends and sisters. (Who would have thought???) Our relationship wasn't perfect, but we sure had a lot of fun growing up together. Kyla now lives in Ohio with her family and as I watch my two little girls interacting, I find myself missing my sister more and more. Every little girl should have a sister.

After School Princess

We are driving home from Nana's preschool listening to "Barbie Sings the Princess Songs" (a CD collection of music from all of her favorite Barbie movies). Actually, I am listening to my daughter loudly belt the Barbie songs for the entire 24 minute drive. It is a typical day for my 3 year-old, Jadyn. Before I have the other children unloaded from the van I find myself tripping over a red backpack, her new preschool project, shoes and socks. Inside the house the trail continues - pants, jacket, shirt, hair clips and rubber bands; all leading up the stairs and to the Princess toy room dress up box. Jadyn's first thought when we get home is to rid herself of the "school clothes" Mommy cruelly forces her to wear when we go out in public. Once home, she can dress the part of the Princess she honestly believes herself to be. The hair comes down and my Princess begins her reign of the house.

I know, you know...

I am addicted to Psych. There, I said it. I wish every day would be a Psych marathon on USA, although I would probably never get anything done. Talk about a show that has rewatchability! The season finale aired last Friday and I laughed through the entire show. It had the perfect blend of satire and silliness. I am sooooo bummed that there will not be any new episodes until this summer. The characters are all amazing and the screenplays are hilarious. Undoubtedly, this is my new favorite show. Jared and I like it so much we even named our newest family addition Burton Guster. (No, not our son, our little goldfish that Jared and I won at a church party…) The kids call him Guster and sweet little Jenna says hi and waves to him every time she walks by. “Hi, Guster-fishy.” Everyone would benefit from a little more laughter on a Friday night. Go Psych!

Daddy is 29!

I know this is late, but Happy 29th Birthday to a wonderful father and husband! (Yes, Jared, that is absolutely you...) The last few years have seen a different type of celebration on your special day. They seem to revolve around picnics, parties, and parks. I guess you wait your whole life to be an adult and once you arrive, you are back to Spiderman birthday parties and blowing bubbles! The girls LOVED planning your special birthday. Jadyn helped with the planning and execution of your playground birthday bash, Jenna just loved that we got some balloons, and Hyrum seemed pretty content to be outside on such a beautiful day. You were the best sport and spent the entire time chasing your girls and giving them some wonderful memories of the day. Thanks for making it a fun day for your girls. They absolutely adore their Daddy. (As is evident every day when they run for the door yelling, "Daddy's home! Daddy's home!") May this year bring you more happiness than you could possibly hope for...I love you very much, Sweetheart!

Here goes...

I don't know why I have put off starting a blog for so long, but I will blame it on being "too busy" with other things. I can't imagine why I would be busy... 3 young (active) kids, carpools, babysitting co-op, church callings, Husband support, business assistance, domestic responsibilities, chef...who would consider themselves busy with that kind of load? So, with all of my excuses out of the way, this is our blog. We are the McClures and this is going to be full of those silly little life stories and insights. I already keep 4 journals (one of myself and one for each of the kids) so why not add a blog as well? Seems logical. At least this way we will be able to share our madness with our friends and family! Enjoy!
