While Jared was working late tonight he checked out our new family blog. He loved it (of course) and was even more entertained by the Emma picture on my sidebar. Just for kicks and giggles he took the quiz. I was not even a bit shocked by which of the characters he resembles... Can you guess?
Yep! So HE is not really Elizabeth Bennet, HE would be much more of the Mr. Darcy type, but there was not a man's version of the quiz. He is probably going to kill me for this, but I thought I would post his answer just the same. Sorry, Babe. I swear I'll make it up to you!

Finally a Cute Blog!
I have finally made the journey into the world of cute blogs. I have to thank Cara for her great class last Thursday and my sister-in-law Chelsea for her help. There are still a few bugs to work out, but I think I really like where this is going...

Random Happenings
Since I have not been great about blogging lately, I thought I could cram several little things into one post. It is easier for me than making a list and saving several drafts until I have time to finalize my posts with photos.
Hyrum, My Little Man -
I now have a little man that is mobile and unstoppable. He still prefers to army crawl on his belly if he is on the ground. (Like his Mommy did when she was little!) Now that he has a walker he is all over the place. He chases his sisters and can keep up pretty well. His favorite game is when one of his sisters pushes his walker and he can "chase" the other sister. He just laughs the entire time. It is so much fun to watch.
This little boy is so much fun to have around. I wish I could freeze this stage of his life. He is just so cute! I love d him in his new blue shirt and tie – thank goodness for super sales! He just looked so handsome to me. (I know that I am biased, I am his mother…) I looked at him and thought about everything that is in store for him…school, scouts, priesthood responsibilities, a mission, marriage, and children of his own someday. I hope that I can teach him all that he needs to know to take on each new challenge in his life. For now, I just hope that I don’t forget to enjoy the little moments and treasure those toothly grins! He’ll grow up soon enough.

The kids were having so much fun that I had to pull out my camera. Jadyn was trying to teach Hyrum how to crawl up the slide and slide down on his belly. He just laughed at her and she ended up laughing so much that she couldn't even pull him up the slide a little ways. We managed to go when there were no other kids around so I could just laugh at my kids running crazy.
When they were all pretty worn out, Jenna and Jadyn buckled themselves into the high chairs. I grabbed a third one and took a picture of all three kids sitting in high chairs. When are they ever going to all be this little again? Now I can say I remember when all of my kids could sit in high chairs at once! It was just one of those little funny moments.
Jenna has a Ponytail!
Jenna has this beautiful, wispy blond hair. (Kind of in mullet fashion, short on top and longer in the back.) Any previous effort to put her hair into a ponytail has failed miserably. She rarely keeps headbands on and I have wanted to do something for the longest time...well, yesterday was the first day we were able to pull some hair up and have it stay for longer than 5 minutes! I had to take a picture!
Jenna loves to wear shoes...mine, Jadyn's, Jared's and she has even tried Hyrum's on. She is so funny about shoes. She is constantly changing her shoes. I guess that her style needed a boost. She managed to find some socks of mine that she liked (of course, they have happy faces on them) and after putting on the socks, she went to find her princess flip-flops. I thought it was darling, so I grabbed a quick photo of Jenna's fashionable feet!

Struttin' with Style

Rub-a-Dub-Dub, 3 Kids in a Tub!
I love tub time! The girls love to play in the tub. They sing songs and play happily together in the bubbles. Recently, we added Hyrum to the girls tub. At first I wasn't sure if it would be OK, but they ma
naged to have even MORE fun. They are always laughing (until it is time to get out). Hyrum does tend to get stuck with the boring toys, but he seems pretty happy with whatever he is given.

It won't be long before they are all grown up and get all irritated with me for taking tub photos, but for right now, I had to document our favorite time of day!
Beware of Dragons!
Jenna is finally big enough to play with the dress up clothes at Nana's House. Nana goes all out after Halloween and gets great deals on costumes. She keeps them for the grand kids and boy do they love to dress up! This is Jenna and Razzie as the cutest little dragons you'll ever see! Oh- I mean Scariest little dragons you'll ever see. Jenna told me, "I am not cute. I will scary you! Rrraawwrrrr!"
Needless to say, I was Scar-ied! Next time you are out, remember to beware of dragons (the scary, cute kind)!
Father's Day
This was a different kind of Father’s Day. Let me explain why…
Daddy has not been able to sleep for days. He has been working 12+ hour days on his business and editing the Trek Video in his “off hours”. The last several nights he hasn’t been home before 3 a.m. (Only to get up and be at work by 7 the next morning.) On Saturday night, he had a deadline to finish the rough edit before the 6:30 a.m. meeting with the Stake. He was up all night working on the video. He literally came home at 5:45 a.m., relaxed for a moment, took a shower, and left for meetings. He had a small break around 7:30 a.m. so he came home to have his Father’s Day Breakfast and open the little Gifts and Cards from his kids. Then it was off to ward meetings – still on no sleep. By the time he arrived home after 10, I sent him to bed. The kids and I went to church alone. Poor Daddy was literally sick and tired. He was finally able to get a few hours of sleep. We missed him at church, but he really needed some sleep. That was the best Father’s Day gift I could give him.
When he was awake, he spent his time with his kids and made sure that today was a great day to remember. Jared loved his video card that the kids and I made for him (a series of video messages and songs for Daddy). He praised the kids for the hand made Tie card that he was given. In every way he was generous with his praise and appreciation and that made the girls just glow with pride and happiness. (I love this man that I am married to!!!) It was nice to honor the father to my children today. He is the best Daddy and his children really adore him.

After dinner we went to Discovery Park and saw the ducks. (I was kicking myself because I brought my nice camera but I forgot to grab a memory card, so I only took photos with the point-and-shoot. Bummer.) The kids were game for some fun photos with their Daddy and we had a nice time walking around the ponds. It was good family fun. I have included some of my favorite photos from the park.
After the park we came back home for Daddy’s Giant Cookie and some ice cream. We were lovin’ the ice cream – we were all pretty warm from walking around outside. This is the only part of Arizona that I am still not used to yet - that Arizona summer heat! After treat time we did prayers, horsie and everyone went to bed. It was a very nice (relaxing) Father’s Day.
Here are a few of the things that Jadyn and Jenna had to say about their Father:
Jadyn “My Daddy is the best Dad because he gives me some hugs and kisses when I need them.”
Jenna “Daddy can play Horsie!”
Jadyn “Sometimes when he sits with me and we read stories I can tell him that he is the Prince and he married Mommy in the temple so that we can have a happy family forever. I love him so much.”
Jenna “Daddy can go to the Park with Jenna.”
Jadyn “When Daddy goes to work I have to run to him and give him hugs and kisses so that he will be happy all day.”
Hyrum “Dada” (His first and only word thus far – that should tell you something.)
I just have to add that I am thankful every single day for the Daddy in our home. He is so good with the kids. Without a doubt he is the favorite of his girls. Jadyn and Jenna get so excited when Daddy comes home. They squeal, race to the door, and give him lots of hugs and kisses. He loves to play with them and make them laugh. He is a tease with a twinkle in his eye and will do anything to make his family enjoy life. The kids and I are crazy about him. He really makes life so much fun. I am glad that we have a day to honor Fathers and Fatherhood.

Jenna's Birthday!
Jenna is 2! I tried to make her birthday special, even though Daddy was gone on our stake trek. She didn’t mind so much and actually ended up opening gifts several times over the week. She still thinks that every day is her birthday and sings ‘Happy Birr-day to Jen-na’ at least twice a day.
Before her Grandma and Grandpa Richardson went to Ohio
to visit Kyla’s family, Jenna opened gifts 
with them. She received some great things, but her favorite was her new swimming suit (with the built in floaties). She could not wait to put it on and still wears it around the house any chance she gets. Still, it is a pretty adorable look on her. She was given a big girl princess comforter of her very own (which looks fantastic on her bunk-bed), some little fairy friends, a cute new outfit, chocolate, and her special swimming suit.
I already blogged about the tougher aspects of her birthday – Jadyn being sick and Jenna’s cookie she
et burn. Despite the difficulties, she had a good day. We did our traditional birthday breakfast of Happy Pancakes. She liked the whipped cream more than the pancake (of course) and quickly devoured the chocolate chips. She opened a gift from Daddy and Mommy. I got some video since Daddy was not able to be there. It is this little plush steering wheel that makes all kinds of driving noises. Jenna likes to pretend that she is driving my car anytime she can get out of her seat. With her new gift, she can pretend to drive from her seat in the back. She was happy with her gift.
She got to choose what she wanted to do for lunch. She chose Chuck-E-Cheese. We invited Nana and Josh’s family was able to come at the last minute (thanks guys!). Because Jadyn wasn’t feeling great (she had a fever), Jenna 
got to play with her cousin Razzie the entire time. She LOVED that. They had a blast on the rides, eating pizza, chasing each other, and (my personal favorite) playing skee ball. Jenna couldn’t throw the ball hard enough, so she finally just climbed on top and carried the ball to the hole she wanted it to go in. Silly girl- but hey- it’s her birthday.
Nana gave her this toy set of “The Littlest Pet Shoppe”. I had no idea how much both she and Jadyn would love that. They played with it for days. It was a great gift for a little girl that loves to make animal sounds (and her big sister).
We spent some time visiting The Greats (our name for Great Grandma and Great Papa Skousen) and Jenna received more birthday hugs, attention, and chocolate. She wa
s in birthday heaven.
We came home, had dinner, and started making cookies. After I pulled out the last batch, Jenna climbed up and burned her chin/lip on the cookie sheet. We spent some time taking care of her nasty burn blisters and said a lot of prayers. We even got a hold of Daddy (on the Trek) to ask him to pray for his girl and let him know what was going on.
Finally Jenna went to sleep - not an easy thing to do with the burn hurting. It had been a great birthday up until the end. She was a real trooper and all of our prayers worked a little miracle. She only has a faint scar on her jaw a
nd everything healed very nicely. What a blessing!
Saturday night Chelsea and Randall met us at the playground to give Jenna part of her gift. She was so excited to get a few more little Pet Shoppe friends. Her favorite was the horse with the cowboy hat. Jenna also got a new wagon from Chels and Randall. She pulls everything around in it (including her sister and all of her toys). It is adorable to watch her play.
On Sunday night (Daddy was home) and we had the last birthday celebration over Nana & Papa’s house. Jenna was
able to open more gifts (cute dresses from Razzie and family), a few little mini Barbies from Jadyn & Hyrum, some big girl underwear from Mom & Dad, and a really fun fold out couch from Nana & Papa. 
The couch was a favorite with all of the little cousins and they spent the rest of the night playing on it. Jenna was able to eat more ice cream and cake. Nana is so good about those things!
