Jenna goes to Preschool

Finally...

Jenna has been anxious to start preschool since she could talk. She watched Jadyn go to school and she came a lot to "help" with me over the last few years. Now she is finally big enough to go to school. On her Meet the Teacher day, she picked out her very own outfit and hair bow. Doesn't she look adorable??? It is like she is saying, "I am ready to go!"

She was so excited to see that her spot is a yellow bear. Her favorite color is yellow.

Nana had to explain that preschool actually included work this year...not just the fun projects. :o) I love Jenna's face. It looks like a lot to take in.

Worms anyone? Her apple shaped cookie was so covered in worms that you couldn't even see the cookie! Oh well. She deserved it. We spent all day meeting other students and parents and she was good for the entire day. She was also a big helper - picking up toys that other children played with while they waited. Good job, Jenna Bug!

Now Jenna took a photo of our staff. (Gail (Nana), me, & Sarah) We had no idea when it was going to take, but we were happy that she managed to get our faces in the picture. (She took another one of just our feet.)

Seriously, the backpacks this year are soooooo cute! The girls have bright pink bears with hair bows and the boys have bright green bears with bow ties. Gail always tries to do something a little different with them each year. I LOVE this year's look!

On the First Official Day of School, Jenna is being offered support from Jadyn and Hyrum. (Yes that is her behind the tree.)

I guess she decided to let me take a few photos of her. I got a few that I just LOVE! Off she goes to preschool!!!

One of the advantages to being an assistant teacher is being able to take pictures during class. Here are Jenna and Hyrum (because he thinks he belongs in school also) doing their Hats and Necklaces. Hyrum actually did a better job than some of the other children. He is in such a hurry to grow up!

Now we are really in the school mode. We all love preschool! Jenna is so happy to finally be in school. She calls it "My School" instead of "Nana's School" or "Jadyn's School". She has a wonderful class and the best teacher in the world... Thanks Nana for having such an awesome preschool!

May Flashback

So lets review...I haven't blogged in months. It was one of those things that I just never got around to doing. I decided that I needed to at least hit on the highlights over the past 4 months.

Jadyn's Mother's Day Program

She is a Star! It is so much fun to watch her in front of a crowd. She eats it up. She was absolutely flawless this year in her program and we were very proud - as a mother and both grandmothers!

Jadyn Turns 5 (or 13)....

Our little girl turned 5 - although she acts a LOT older. She had an extraordinary birthday filled with lots of TLC and plenty of gifts to make her little heart sing. In all, I have to say that Chelsea and Randall took the cake... Have you ever seen such a cute Tinkerbell cake?!? It was one of their 1st big ones, now they are pros at this type of cake. I still look at it in amazement. Jadyn about died when she saw it. None of us wanted to cut it up and eat it.

Her very first "Friends" party. All Girls. All Faries. All Tinkerbell. It was so much fun! Nana outdid herself with the paintings. All of the girls were given wings, skirts, fairy shoes, and wands. They looked adorable. We did Fairy Fun activities - like flower creating, wand decorating, water carrying, target practice and dancing. It was "Flitter-riffic"! I could not have done it without help from Nana, Jared and Melanie...especially Melanie when Jared got "lost" looking for pizza for an hour!!! Ahhh, the memories.

One of Jadyn's gifts was the Sleeping Beauty experience. Grandma took her to buy a new dress, new shoes and then they went to the Hale Theatre to see "Sleeping Beauty". Jadyn loved every second of the music and acting. She came home and told me that,

"Someday I will be in plays and I will be the very best one on the stage." That is easy to believe.

Graduation!!!

Preschool graduation is extra fun when you know your child is exceptional... :o) We were so proud of Jadyn this year. Before finishing preschool, she was reading....Really reading. She read 155 books and took home the award for the Top Reader. She finished all of those books before she turned 5. AMAZING GIRL!!! We were so proud of her! She broke the school record for most books ever completed. Now we'll see how long it stands. Jenna is out to beat her sister's record.

Jenna Turns 3!

Jenna had such a nice birthday (compared to last year with the mouth burning and Daddy being gone. She had a perfect birthday and got plenty of Ponies and Baby Doll Accessories. She was so anxious to be 3 that she started telling everyone she was 3 months before her birthday. Yellow is still her very favorite color - if you can't tell from the photos - and life couldn't be better for our little girl!

That about wraps up May. We had a busy month with preschool projects, birthdays, programs and all of the fun we were having! My girls are growing up so fast!

Jadyn's Lucky Day

The day finally arrived for Jadyn's Preschool Christmas Program. The countdown started over a month ago. Jadyn LOVES to sing and she was so excited for the program. She didn't even want to go to sleep the night before. It was almost as intense as waiting for Christmas Morning!


I wish I could explain just how much work goes into putting on the program and all of the projects that the kids take home on program day. Gail does amazing things. AMAZING. From the t-shirts with their hands and footprint, to the gingerbread houses and a box full of gifts and goodies, the kids go home with some great memories.

As to the program, well... I'll have to show you. Gail has hats, bells, shakers, etc. for all of the songs. Everything is special. Everything is so cute to watch. The kids do a great job. Jadyn knew every word and every action to every song. It was so much fun to watch her! So, here are some program photos:

Did I mention that they also got to see Santa? Here is one of my favorites... Jadyn, Jenna and Razzie all hanging out with Santa.

After we finished the program and helped with the clean-up. Again, I just have to say "Thanks!" to my amazing Mother-in-law. It was a fun program!

Next we went to McDonalds to play. It was a cold and rainy day, so I was pretty suprised that Jadyn wanted a Hot Fudge Sundae, but hey, it was her special day.

Shrek was playing at McDonalds, so after we braved the cold rain and made it home, we threw our schedule out of the window and had a Shrek Marathon. The kids all had blankets and snuggled on the couch. We ate popcorn and drank hot chocolate. Jenna and Hyrum took turns falling asleep on my lap. It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon!

When it was time for bed, Jadyn asked if she could call Daddy and tell him about her "Lucky Day". I had to ask why today was today a lucky day? This was her excited response...

"Mom, today was my PROGRAM! I got to sing and do my part. I loved it. Then I saw Santa and sat on his lap. That was so cool. Then we went to McDonalds because it was so cold and I got to play with new friends. I ate a Hot Fudge Sundae and then we came home and watched movies and had fun ALL day. Today was MY LUCKY DAY!"

Of course we called Daddy to tell him all about it. Great Job, Jadyn! I am glad you had such a lucky day!

Preschool Halloween Party

Every year at preschool the spend the day before/on Halloween playing games, frosting yummy cookies, and finish the day with the parade. This year, Jadyn was so anxious for the parade and party that she could not even sleep the night before. She was very excited to be Glinda the Good Witch (Wizard of Oz) with a semi-homemade costume. It was fun to see all of the little kids all dressed up. Here are some highlights...

Since Jenna was with us taking pictures of all of the Halloween party activities, she was able to march in the parade as well. She dropped her witch hat immediately and had fun being a big girl.

Of course, what event would not be complete without one of my kids having a complete melt-down? After the parade, Jadyn sat on the pavement and cried like her life was over.

Fortunately, Nana rallied her spirits and we were able to grab a few shots with some of the little cousins and preschool friends. (Yeah, she was just wailing a few moments before and she was able to turn on the charm for the cameras....Drama Queen!)


Here is our car-pool group. I really love these girls. I am so glad that we get to all drive to preschool and have so much singing and talking in the van. Jadyn has wonderful little friends and that is a blessing that fills me with gratitude.

We love Halloween and we love preschool. It was a great combination! (with the exception of Jadyn's dramatic crying-fest) Happy Halloween!
